FTJ2 is under construction, thanks for helping us test!

Embedding vs RTMP — Which Should I Use?

There are two ways to put a live stream on FTJ2. Here's how they compare so you can pick the right one.

RTMP (streaming straight into FTJ2)

You point OBS at FTJ2 and broadcast directly. FTJ2 hosts the stream end to end.

  • Full integration — native player, integrated live chat, and your stream front-and-center in Now Playing.
  • Automatic replays — every RTMP stream is saved as a VOD when you end.
  • FTJ Radio eligible — qualifying RTMP streams can replay 24/7 as audio.
  • Best viewer experience on FTJ2.

Embed (showing a stream you run elsewhere)

You stream on another platform (e.g. Rumble) and paste its embed code into FTJ2.

  • No extra bandwidth from you to FTJ2 — the other platform delivers the video.
  • Keep your existing pipeline and audience on that platform.
  • Simple — paste once and you're done.
  • But: no FTJ2 replay, no FTJ Radio, and features depend on the third-party player.

Our recommendation

If FTJ2 is your home base, stream over RTMP — you get the native player, automatic replays, and Replay Radio. Use Embed when you're primarily live on another platform and just want your show visible here too.
